Q: Do you only make hats?
A: Actually, my designs are more “hair wear” because even my “hats” are not traditional and can sit anywhere on your head . They sit on top of your head rather than fit onto it. They attach with a bow under your chin or with clips on the underside. I also make fascinators, headbands, bows and tiaras.
Q: What are your hats made of?
A: My hats are made of pretty much anything you can imagine. I’m not really adverse to making a hat out of pretty much anything. I don’t have many limitations with making my pieces.
Q: I love your hats! Are you looking for new models?
A: I currently am not looking for new models; I have a fairly large group of girls that I use on a regular basis. However, if you would like to model for Blu Zombie, the best way is to purchase a hat and send us an image of you wearing it. We’d love to see your photos, and you never know – we might like them so much that you become one of our regular models. I always do give preference to those who have already purchased a piece from me.
Q: Would you be interested in collaborating with me and sending me a free hat in exchange for images?
A: I’m unable to send out free hats. I wish that I could send a hat to each and everyone who contacts me, but because my hats are one of a kind, and I personally hand make each one, it’s just not possible.
Q: I am a very well known photographer/model with published fashion work. Would you send me a hat to shoot?
A: I do occasionally send out my pieces to models/photographers who I am certain will give me excellent images and trust to send my pieces back, but I ask that you pay shipping and agree to give me at least 3 edited images that show my hair wear well. You also must agree to return the hat.
Q: I want to purchase a hat for a shoot coming up in a week. Is that enough time?
A: As stated above, I am just one person designing and making the hats. I generally ask for a 3-4 week time line in which to design, construct and mail the piece.
Q: Do I need to pay for my piece when I order it?
A: Yes, because history has taught me – I don’t even start a hat until it’s been paid for.
Q: What methods of payment do you take?
A: At this time, I take PayPal or a money order/cashier’s check. I can process your order through PayPal, even if you don't have PayPal, so you can use your credit card. Please don’t send concealed cash. It’s just too risky for both of us!
Q: Do you do custom orders or just sell the hats in your store?
A: I do custom hats, but my prices are a bit higher and depend on the cost and time for the hat you want made.
Q: Is there ANY way I can get a free or reduced price hat?
A: I have a Street Team and am always looking for members. Street Team members get a lot of perks. You can get free hats and more!
Q: What do I have to do to be on your Street Team and get free hats?
A: Street Team members are simply asked to spread the word about Blu Zombie. The more you talk about Blu Zombie, the greater your chances are to get free Blu Zombie design wear. For example, if you refer one person to me who purchases a hat, you will receive a Blu Zombie bow. If you refer 2 people, you receive either another bow or a tiara. When you refer 3 people who buy hats, you receive a free hat.
Q: Do you barter/trade with other designers or for people who do web design?
A: I LOVE bartering/trading and am always in need of web people to help me out on my various sites. If you think you have something that I might like, please contact me. I'm always very open to other designers.
Q: Do you ship outside the United States?
A: I do ship anywhere. You just have to send me your country/address and I can quote you what the price of shipping will be.
